Do you know someone who is spiritually lazy?
Spiritual laziness could be defined as relying on other to do your own inner work. For example, someone may ask you to recommend a good video to watch. When that person sees that the video is over an hour long, they’ll ask you for a summary of it. The same could be said about any given spiritual article.
Another common theme is not finding the time to do inner work. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has been practicing Transcendental Meditation (TM) for over 40 years but recently realized he was not doing it correctly by not meditating in the morning upon arising. Once he started doing TM in the morning, he found that his energy levels rose to heights never achieved before. The bottom line is that he spent an extra 20-30 minutes each morning to feel more energy all throughout the day.
While it may seem overwhelming that there is so much to learn on the spiritual path, try to look at it this way:
Imagine going to an all you can eat buffet and filling your plate full of amazing food. While your plate is overflowing, it eventually empties, bite by bite. Your spiritual journey is similar. There are a plethora of videos and articles to read and sometimes, it truly can feel a little bit overwhelming, but page by page… or video by video… you’ll clear your plate and will find yourself being led in a specific direction that helps YOU facilitate YOUR OWN personal journey.
I’ve hosted a number of shows on In5D Radio that last 2 hours or longer. I can’t tell you the number of times that people ask me for a synopsis of a show that LOADED with amazing information. I’m sure other people who host radio shows can attest to this.
Similarly, I’ve cumulatively written hundreds of articles on Zentasia.com, In5D.com and BodyMindSoulSpirit.com. Some are lengthy, although I try to keep them short and sweet. I’ve had people ask me for a synopsis of some of my longer articles. I’m sure other authors have seen this as well.
How many times do people watch their favorite sports teams on TV or a particular TV show that they just can’t miss? How much time is wasted texting or playing video games? How are any of these activities helping to evolve our spiritual growth?
No one can enlighten you but YOU. Other people may light the candle for enlightenment but it’s up to YOU to keep that candle burning. The candle represents your inner desire for knowledge and while others may help to facilitate your journey, please keep in mind that this is YOUR JOURNEY! Your soul and higher self are the only ones who truly know what YOU need, so while other people may make recommendations, use your own discernment as to what you need to fulfill your soul while making this spiritual journey as enriching as possible.
Follow your heart, listen to your higher self and don’t rely on others to fulfill something that only you can do.
